SF State Silver Lining Lecture Series: Aging, Health and Wellness in San Francisco This program is a collaborative effort between the SF Department of Aging & Adult Services and SF State’s Gerontology Program. As SF State Gerontology Advisory Council President, Tom Berry will introduce our inaugural Silver Lining Lecture Series and distinguished keynote. California State Senator Scott Wiener serves as the Chair of the Senate Human Services Committee. He is also a member of the Appropriations, Public Safety, Transportation and Housing, and Energy Committees. Senator Wiener will speak about his legislative agenda for seniors. Professor Darlene Yee-Melichar will introduce the innovative panel on Aging, Health and Wellness in San Francisco. She will talk about Developing Gerontology Workforce Competency to Promote Healthy Aging and Long-Term Care. Valerie Coleman will speak about Ensuring an Age and Disability Friendly San Francisco. Gwen Harris will provide information and training on Palliative Care and Quality of Life. This workshop can accommodate 85 people. You must register in advance via e-mail to guarantee a spot.
