DAAS Community Training & SF State Silver Lining Lecture Series

The SF Department of Aging & Adult Services (DAAS) and SF State will hold the inaugural event in the Silver Lining Lecture Series: Aging, Health and Wellness in San Francisco. SF State Gerontology Advisory Council President Tom Berry will introduce the series and the distinguished keynote speaker, California State Senator Scott Wiener. Wiener serves as chair of the Senate Human Services Committee and is a member of the Appropriations, Public Safety, Transportation and Housing, and Energy Committees. Professor Darlene Yee-Melichar will introduce the panel and will discuss “Developing Gerontology Workforce Competency to Promote Healthy Aging and Long-Term Care. Valerie Coleman of DAAS will speak about “Ensuring an Age and Disability Friendly San Francisco.” Gwen Harris of Seniors at Home will provide information and training on “Palliative Care and Quality of Life.”
